During 12 month deployments the Army provides the soldier with two weeks to go home to rest and recuperate. L came home 5 months into the deployment and was able to celebrate LJ's birthday with us. R and R is a funny thing, you are so excited for it, but you dread the uncertainties that go with it. How will the boys be when he returns? Will CJ remember him? How will they be when he leaves? There are questions that loom throughout the visit.
You have to be aware of that thinking and force it away. Those two weeks are vital and they are to enjoy being a family again. L's R and R was just that:enjoyable.
