Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

We hope you all enjoyed your vacation as much as we did. It was so nice to spend two weeks with just our little family.

We took a trip out to Charlotte for a few nights and stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge. Great Wolf is like a Club Med for kids. It has an indoor waterpark and all sorts of special activities for Christmas. We spent a majority of time in the water, as LJ LOVED swimming, splashing, and the slides. It was a lot of fun to get away just the three of us.

On Christmas Eve we spent the day with our Army friends the Hamiltons. Scott, Renee, and Gabbie were so gracious and invited us over for a New Orleans (Renee's hometown) dinner. We had Po'boys, Red Beans and Rice, salad, and King Cake. It was so good and so much fun. We really are blessed to have good people that we can call friends.

Christmas Eve night we each opened one gift; which of course were Christmas pajamas. LJ hung the stockings, put out milk and cookies (he put out two, but ate one), and went to bed...he was so excited. Christmas morning was awesome. He came in to wake us up, and wanted to go downstairs right away. When he got downstairs we told him to take a look at the cookies and see if Santa ate them. He was so upset. "He ate them all and drank the milk." It was hilarious, I guess he didn't get that they were for Santa.

We opened gifts, ate breakfast, and spent the day in our pajamas. It really was such a gift to have L home this year.

The rest of the break has flown by: we had snow, our anniversary, New Years, and just the usual run of the mill stuff. Love to you all, hope 2011 brings you much happiness and good fortune!
